Some of the key new features included with this upgrade are:
- Additional attempts in Anonymous Grading: Instructors can now grant students an additional attempt when needed and the prior attempt cannot be cleared because it is in an anonymous state
- Clear multiple-choice selection: Students are now able to clear a selection from multiple-choice questions. This lets students avoid a penalty when they have made an initial selection and negative points are associated with answer choices.
- Record attendance in Blackboard Learn: Instructors can track attendance. In Learn courses, a gradebook column is added when the instructor begins taking attendance. The Attendance column provides the overall attendance score in the gradebook, where it can be included in the student’s overall grade.
- Rendering of math equations: The problem with math equations rendering as text has been resolved.
At the time of the upgrade, we will also change the theme to Bb Learn 2016. This new responsive theme is a modern version of the user interface that incorporates elements from the new Blackboard design language including color, fonts, and spacing for consistency between Blackboard Learn, Collaborate, and the Blackboard apps. The Learn 2016 theme follows WCAG 2.0 principles and accessibility guidelines for structure, color contrast, and navigation.
